THE MARMARIS DIARIES
WELCOME TO THE DIARY OF A THIRTY SOMETHING BRITISH SOCIALITE IN TURKEY

Where to start? Well, my name is Louise Bell. I am a 40 year old British ex pat that has just returned to the UK from living in Marmaris / Turkey for the last 22 years.
I moved over to Turkey when I was 16 years old when I decided to show my parents that I could indeed hold my own, so I hopped on a plane and 22 years later returned from living the dream.
I had a fabulous life in Marmaris, I can totally say that I lived it to the full - And not just the social side of things either. I was a Rep for MyTravel for 10 years, finally leaving the tourism lime light to contribute the English pages for a local magazine (Şamata Magazin) which is pretty much the Turkish version of 'Hello'. I have also written articles for Yahoo and I released 3.5 books in a series called 'The Marmaris Diaries'.
I used to be a single and fabulous socialite in Marmaris for as far back as I can remember, but those days are long gone. Yes, the last single girl finally found her lobster, and a Turkish one at that.
Do I miss the single life? Come on, who wouldnt... I had such a bloody marvellous one. But I am super happy to have the old ball and chain to come home to at the end of a night out partying. And yes, I do still party, but only till about 9.30pm when I can take no more and walk my sorry sober arse up to bed as I've had enough of the day.
Why move back to Blighty you may ask? Well, I will let my books tell that story, but only if you are not easily offended as it is what it is :)
