Exclusive Interview With Daniel Lewis-Dayle: Author of the book 'Connor Candlish - A Man of Freedom'11/14/2016 Dear My Loyal 5 Readers,
Daniel Lewis-Dayle is not just an author, he is a good friend, so when deciding who I was going to interview the choice was made pretty easy considering he has recently released his first Erotic novel! After reading 'Connor Candlish - Man of Freedom' and loving it, I wanted to get Dan on my website sharing with us some of the sexy details of his latest novel... So Dan, What made you decide to write your book Connor Candlish – A Man Of Freedom? I had just completed my Fantasy series Auriala, and I had been approached from a number of people asking me to help with their biographies. I thought about this myself, and thought “I liked it when I was a rep“ and started opening up my memories, and before I knew it Connor was born. I decided there were too many rep novels out there, so I needed a twist. Repping is about fun, sex is also fun, so let’s throw that into the mix, and wham bam, thank you Connor, an erotic adventure was being written based on my own experiences. Well, well, well - Who'd have thought it :) Looking at your writing style, who inspires you and who would you like to be compared to? I have an eclectic taste in writing, fantasy, erotica, horror, thriller, so this is a difficult one. However, I would like someone to say “Dan, he’s the Male Jackie Collins. After reading The first Connor book, I would say that's pretty much true. Dan, give us an insight into your main character. What does he do that is so special? Well Louise, it may not come as a shock but well, Connor is a bit of a male tart. He enjoys sleeping around, and this is his downfall. He pulls the wrong woman and she just won’t leave him alone, as hard as he tries. The story picks up from the death of his family, and how he realises he wants to live in the sun. I think the fact the reader hates and loves him at the same time could be one of his special traits. I hated him to begin with... The reader sees your writing style as a “Male Bridget Jones, or 50 Shades Of Grey” what do you think of this accolade? When I first heard both of those I laughed. An American reader told me that she loved the 50 shades factor and thought that I was really a woman writing it. This also made me laugh. Perhaps when complete I should write a girls perspective? Or maybe you can Louise? Hmm, 'The Marmaris Diaries' are about as much as I can take on right now, so I'm leaving this in your very capable erotic hands. So, lets get down to the nitty gritty, how much of the story is true? I would say 70-75 % fact and the rest is fiction. For the reader to decide. What do you think Louise? I worked with you so I know what happened in Turkey, mind you, reading about it still shocked me ;) How true to life are the characters names to your real story ? All characters are based on real people, but it is over 10 years since I met those people. Chris (or Kris) was my best friend in Mallorca, he was from Sweden and looked like Andrew WK, but in the book he’s a ginger cockney lol, but I cannot for the life of me remember some of the other people’s real names. Sian was definitely one of the head reps, but she’s a Leeds Lass. I just developed some of them whilst writing. Ophelia is based on a girlfriend I pulled whilst living in Turkey, but I bought her forward in the timeline to make the crazed stalker part more appealing. Lei is based on your good self, and so is her dog Gucci, and a few other people I know make cameos in the book, including Angie! They would know who they are if they read it. Other things were changed. So for example the man in rubber in Mallorca was really one of the supervisors, but not in this book. Sandy is also another real character but she told me off more than what she does in this book lol (she was my supervisor). Also there is a part about two hippies. I loved those hippies, and their story happened right in front of me, it was a horrible story that played out whilst I lived in The Gambia…. But the strange thing with this is these two still live together…. They live near to me, and gave me their blessing to use them within. Crickey! If you can choose one celebrity to endorse your book – who and why ? Because of the content, it either has to be Keith Lemon, or someone the total opposite, but feasible, I mean can you imagine Kate Middleton reading it? So Keith Lemon or maybe Carol Vordermann? I see Keith Lemon, I just love him. As the author, who would play Connor in the Movie? And who would be his co-stars? Connor’s got to come across sexy, and young, so maybe Chris Hemsworth? His co-stars would be Karen Gillan (Shannon) Jenna Colman (Sian) Sean McGowan would make an excellent Chris, Perhaps someone like Georgie Porter could play Ophelia. Great line up Dan, particularly Chris Hemsworth ;) Where can we buy or see them? Available on Amazon, Kobo and Barnes and Noble. You will be asked to remove any adult filters because of the content. Or see link below. Paperback is £7.99 kindle is £6.99 http://dantobiaslewisdayle.weebly.com/ https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1534825495/ref=tsm_1_fb_lk Plus there is a link on my website too, check it out HERE And will there be a sequel? Definitely. I am currently waiting for Book 2 ; Connor Candlish, The Black Orchid to come back from the proof readers. The next one is a lot darker and takes place in my days running a bar. It is set a lot in Blackpool before heading back to Mallorca… Whilst waiting for this, I have started Book 3 (yet to be titled) and am envisioning 4 or 5 parts. These will move back into the sun as I think they flow naturally that way. And Connor enjoys his sunshine… Are you dropping hints there Danny boy? I will crack on with the proof reading this week :) If you could have been the original author of any book, what would it have been and why? Wuthering Heights is my all-time favourite so maybe Emily Bronte. What advice would you give to aspiring writers? Keep taking notes. Keep developing, and ask people to read it. I have a few people, each looking at different things, one for the story, one for the grammar, and another for the reaction factor. It really works. Don’t listen to “You cannot do this” because that person has never published. You will be…. I would be happy to help if you want to contact me on any of the links below. It would also be helpful to have a Dictaphone, and a notepad at hand as inspiration keeps coming! Great advice! Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t asked so far? I am an actor and entertainer, and for regular updates, please feel free to follow me on my websites, and also, I am in Dick Whittington this Festive Season in Stoke on Trent. Also, any sale of Auriala, the Fantasy series until the end of the year goes to Cancer Charity, Douglas Macmillan. How can readers discover more about you and you work?
