The Bride & Groom: Hollie first met Mark when she was a holiday rep working for MyTravel in Marmaris in 2006. Mark was her Team Leader so officially they had found ‘forbidden love’. Hollie was 20 and Mark 26.
From that summer season onwards they became inseparable working in not just Turkey but also Greece, Egypt, Dominican Republic, Mexico and the UK as a couple. They got engaged on Hollie’s 22nd birthday in the Dominican Republic. Mark had planned to propose in the helicopter ride he'd booked for Hollie however his microphone in the helicopter wasn't working! In the evening he took Hollie for dinner and finally proposed then, to which off course she said YES! They chose Turkey to get married as this was where they met, plus Mark is half Turkish. The Venue: The wedding and reception were set in the idyllic venue of Club Mistral in Hisaronu, located 25 minutes away from Marmaris. The wedding itself took place in a picture perfect garden area of ruins and was an amazingly glamorous setting for an amazingly glamorous bride and groom. Sitting in what I can only describe as a film set watching the bride and groom exchanging nuptials brought a tear to my eye to just how much love was in the open air venue. Club Mistral has always been their favorite place on the planet, so what better place to wed. .? The Guests: The table plan read like a who’s who of Marmaris Tour Operator elite from the good old days of MyTravel & Julian Tours. I was so happy to see so many friends of old, with one friend (Lotfi Kammoun, supervisor for Thomas Cook) travelling all the way from Tunisia to attend the wedding. It was also great to meet friends of new from the bride and grooms family and friends that had traveled over from the UK (and one all the way from the Dominican Republic). The Reception: The reception was filled with fabulous food, copious amounts of alcohol, hilarious toasts, a great band, and best of all was the company that we shared the wedding and reception with. A sign of a good night is surely black feet as I kicked off my shoes to dance the night away! The Dress: Bespoke, an original and one off design from the UK. Photographer: Carl Thomson Humphries, UK Based. Carl is available for destination weddings and also includes ‘trash the dress’ shoots after the wedding. A lovely account of what looked like a wonderful wedding! I particularly liked the Brooch Bouquet!
